Since 2001, IEP has produced many events for the VFW, to include the past three annual conventions. This past August, in addition to President Bush speaking to the members, four top-tier presidential candidates also took the stage: Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain, plus former Sen. Fred Thompson.

"Approximately 10,000 VFW and Ladies Auxiliary delegates represented the 2.3 million-member organization at the annual convention to approve new national priorities to guide the organization as it lobbies Congress on issues important to the nation’s 24 million veterans, her two million service members, and their families."

Protocol responsibilities for a sitting President always creates major production challenges. When you add four more candidates that are seeking that same office, each with their own "camps", production issues are heavy. From the Secret Service to the White Communications Office, as a production vendor you need to know what you are doing.
